Inka culture is surrounded by images of the puma. Many sacred Inka cities and structures were created in the puma image. The puma is the strongest, most courageous, and wisest animal in the Andes, the ultimate display of inner strength and conviction. These are the qualities that made the puma an important symbol and source of inspiration in the pre-Inka and Inka culture.
The Inka people believed that their soul (living spirit) was a puma. This belief gave them daily inner strength to accomplish extraordinary tasks which might otherwise seem insurmountable. When visiting these sacred Inka cities, it becomes apparent that the puma within the Inka people yielded tremendous power and inner strength both for the individual and the society as a whole.

Giving Back to the Community
The Puma Path Zipline is located in the community of Rumira, just minutes outside the Incan town of Ollantaytambo, Peru. This venture is in cooperation with the people of Rumira and as a company we are committed to giving back to the community. A portion of each zipline rider’s ticket is donated to the community of Rumira to support their schools and infrastructure. Puma Path is also committed to promoting sustainable tourism. We are embarking on a multi-year project to reforest the mountain of Puka Moco with native Andean trees. The people of Rumira are very excited about how we will restore the natural beauty with native trees to this sacred, magical place.
Christmas Chocolatada Celebration
Puma Path celebrated Christmas with the children of the community of
Rumira serving hot chocolate and Panetone for all. Santa Claus was there
with a gift for each child making it a very special Christmas
celebration with hundreds of happy children. We look forward to doing
this each year as well as hosting other community events for the
children and people of Rumira.
Volunteer
The Puma Path Zip Line partners with Walking Tree Peru, a local non profit organization with a mission of reforesting the Andes with native trees.
